Try the Rum Cake and Rhododendron tea at Tengboche's Bakery!
The Everest Base Camp trek is a rigorous trek in high altitude through one of the most spectacular areas on earth. Every day you experience new scenery, friendly people, and different challenges. I highly recommend this trek to anyone who wants to challenge themselves, though almost anyone do the trek if you prepare accordingly.
Gear
There are a thousand gear lists for this trek online so I will not spend too much time on the subject. Bring a sturdy pair of boots and break them in before you leave. I wore Merrell Moab Ventilators and while they were adequate at first, they deteriorated quickly. Also they were not waterproof. I would recommend waterproof boots in case of rain. Bring a down sleeping bag and water purification tablets or Steripen.
Hi Dakota,
How was your flight from Kathmandu into Lukla? any delays with the rain?
Happy trekking!
