Start from Lukla. Halt at Pangboche and change next day halt at Dengboche, this will help acclimatize. Keep 1 day in hand for Gorak shep as weather may not favor sometimes for clear view of the Everest.
On the way back, come down to Salleri or Jiri, preferably “Jiri” as public transportation from Salleri to Kathmandu is very bad. Make the trek short after Lukla on the way to Salleri/ Jiri as knee ligaments may get injured by then.
Give good tips to the portar at the end of the journey as they hardly save any money from their wage because of having to pay for their food on the way which is comparatively expensive for their income.
Hello, I’m going to do that trek in April 2018. Do you think I can do this trek without a guide?
Absolutely OK if you are alone. In fact, I enjoy more being alone. The next day after Namche Bazar, you are at Tengboche Monastery. Pls make the journey shorter from here. I reached base camp in 1.5 day from this monastery and spent sleepless night which is a sign of altitude. I would not recommend you to rush but plan to reach base camp on the 3rd day after Tengboche for better accalamatizing.
There will be a lot of people on the way and in the guest houses. Everybody excited and would be happy to talk with another soul so no worry.
