Summary : Usually, I am in a very joyous when I document my trekking experiences in my blog so that it can serve as a reference to fellow trekkers, and also help me relive the memories at a later point of time. However, there is a part of this blog entry I wish I never had to write.
My Rolwaling Trek can be divided into 3 distinct phases.
– 1st phase : 11 day trek from Naya Pul, starting from the Baisakhi – 14th April, to reaching Na on 24 th April – a phase of immense happiness and satisfaction with lasting memories of the Blooming Rhodendron Forests. A phase which included a 9 day stretch where I met no other trekkers en route till I reached Beding.
– 2nd phase : The emotions/thoughts/event as the earthquake struck on 25th April.
– 3rd phase : The devastation/destruction I witnessed left in the aftermath of the earthquake as I made my way back to Kathmandu.
