Ghorepani/Poon Hill Trek

Wonderful clear skies, temperatures are warm from 10am to 1pm due to the mid-day sun. However, once the sun goes beyond the peaks, it gets chilly very quickly.

Ghorepani was very cold, my 1.5litre bottle froze overnight. This wouldn’t have been a problem with a thermos flask. Temperatures at night might be pretty unbearable for some. Warm inner layers and proper warm sleeping bags are recommended if possible.

Fell while descending on the 3rd day, due to the use of sneakers and the lack of grip while descending quickly. In winter, there are ice formed beneath the fallen leaves on the steps. Hence, proper hiking shoes are highly recommended to keep the ankle in position and at least forcing you to plant your foot with stability to ensure no incidents.
