Annapurna Circuit Trek

Hire a porter. Don't carry big cameras & bulky lenses. Stay at tea houses & home stays. Making friends is easy here. Locals are v kind & sweet. Dal - bhat was awesome. eat local food. tibetan bread was super. Be wary of fakes - north face etc brands fakes are available.

My Trip started with this trip advisor & this website – where i started looking for trekking partners for the same.. Well, it just fell into place after that.. everything and every person associated with this trek was like it was meant to be.

Finding Suli, on the site (getting a lot of responses which didn’t work out, but served the purpose of boosting my morale) .. Meeting my trek co-ordinator – Asahi Trekking. Then meeting the Asahi owner Kumar Thapa in Kathmandu. He found, Annie & Taylor, two more partners..

Trekking through the super Annapurna circuit for the best 18 days of my life – exhausting, exhilarating & soul satisfying. Staying at FishLodge Hotel at beautiful Pokhara and Holy Lodge at Kathmandu..

Gear

i got my own sleeping bag & liner, fleece, down feather jacket, rain gear, (warm clothing) shoes, (mund socks) trekking poles. I did not however have gaiters, crampons or any gear for snow. It snowed and being a novice on snow, i did hurt my knee, because i kept slipping. The food was very good, so i wish i hadn't carried the bit i did from Thamel. And fresh showers are available on the trek - so i'm glad i carried toiletries & spare clothes to change into. However not more that three pairs were required. Don't carry lenses n bulky cameras..!

Costs

trek plus hotel plus insurance plus flights was 1 lakh INR
