Upper Mustang Trek

This will be my 25th trekking visit to Nepal. I first went in 1980, when the country was Way less crowded by tourists than it is today. But I still Love it! I am looking to spend 5 nights in Upper Mustang, doing day hiking trips from a lodge in the central city of Lomanthang, I last visited Mustang in the year 2010 (before the region was connected by road to the rest of Nepal.) I have an extra room reserved in the nicest hotel there, to house a trekking partner or couple.

Unfortunately I have Zero flexibility on the dates of the trip. I have plane reservations from fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara on September 21, and on to Jomosom on the only flight of the day on September 22. Flying back to Pokhara and on to Kathmandu on September 27. The round-trip airfare per person will be about $475. The budget I have listed of $3000 per person includes the Mustang permit, the plane flights, 6 nights in the hotel, food, a guide (newly required by regulation) and incidentals.

I am looking for one or two truly exceptional people to join me on the trip. What I DON’T NEED is a guide, a porter, or any help getting the Mustang permit ($500 per person) or the other permits. After 43 years of visiting the country, I have a wide network of friends in Kathmandu who have already agreed to arrange everything for me.
