Torre del Paine, Fitzroy and more in Patagonia

I’ll be in Punta Arenas Feb 9 and would like to hike Torre del Paine, Fitz Roy, and Dientes Circuit before bad weather sets in.

I am a fit middle aged female hiker and happy to hike at moderate pace with others on any of these 3 trips. Booking of the Austral Broom is needed ahead for the Dientes so have booked for Feb. 20 leaving Punta Arenas for Puerto Williams.

Anyone interested in that trip would need to book soon. There are no huts on this trip and details are in Lonely planet Trekking in the Patagonian Andes.

I’d like to find at least a couple of like minded hikers to join me on parts or all of the trip… Warm up hike will be “O” or “W” circuit of Torres del Paine…

Cheers, Sherry

  1. Too bad this trip isn’t a little later in the year, I would totally join!

  2. I am up for this trip. I have 7-10 days, flexible dates in Feb.

  3. Hi Tashi,
My trip is now pretty much confirmed. I am taking the Feb. 20 boat from Punta Arenas to Puerto Williams and will be doing the Dientes Circuit which is on Isla Navarino. It is a rough and sketchy trail in an area known for high winds and snow even in mid summer. It takes 4-5 days, then, from there, rough idea of going back to circle Fitz Roy. If you are used to rugged terrain, back packing in possibly severe conditions, this may appeal.

  4. Thanks Sherry,
I will inform you in due time. I primarily wanted to hike TDP and Fitz Roy if possible. I have hiked long distance rugged terrain in the White Mountains in US. So your options sounds good too.
Thanks for reaching me back !

  5. Hi Sherry! I’ve been posting on a bunch of hikes and I’m pretty sure I said I’m 23….I’m 24 🙁 haha jesus I can’t even remember my own age! Anyway, I’m trying to make a trip for the O circuit. I’ll arrive in el Calafate Feb 7th. I’m a fit, field biologist looking for an awesome time in Torres and have been to el Chalten before but would like to get back!
