Three Passes Trek

Namaste!
I’m really excited for the challenge of the Three Passes Trek and the exhilaration it will bring to be crossing these high passes and seeing the sights of the great mountains of the Himalayas. I’d love to connect with other people who will be on the trail.

I’m a seasoned backpacker; I worked for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in the USA for several years in the backcountry, and have a good amount of off-trail experience. When I worked there I had plenty of experience working and backpacking at around 4,000m; the highest I have been is to a bit above 5,000m on Iztac Volcano in Mexico (did not summit due to timing and weather).

While I love traveling solo and am planning to do the trek independently/without a guide, I will definitely be interested in meeting up with folks to get up and over the passes for safety purposes, as well as for making new friends, memories, and fun!

I’m a little flexible on my timing; I am planning to book my flight to Lukla in the coming days for either March 22 or 23rd. I’m planning to take time for side trips such as summiting Gokyo Ra and perhaps EBC. I’ve been reading over trip itineraries but will most likely be listening to my body and moving as fast or as slow as feels good. While I have until about April 20 in Nepal my plan is to head to Pokhara when I complete this both to rest and to possibly do another smaller trek.

Best wishes to all of you!

  1. Hello Natalie,

I am not a guide but a traveller myself. A Nepali national who studied in USA. I am an avid trekker and am here looking to join a like minded traveller who like to go with the flow. I have done Gokyo Ri in 2017 and Kalapatthar in 2019. I am super familiar with this area and only thing left for me to do in this region is the 3 passes. If you are interested please let me know. I was planning to move 13th March but am ok to wait another week.
