The Three Passes and Everest Base Camp Adventure

We’ll meet in Kathmandu on November 30th, take a jeep to Bhandar on December 1st and start trekking the following day. It’ll be relaxing and fun, with a twist of adventure. I want to assure everyone that this trek is being guided by myself and Nepalese mountain guide, Ram Sharan Upreti. We are both very experienced. And our main objective is to keep everyone in our group safe and secure.

  1. Hi Pete,
I am hoping to arrive in Kathmandu from Ireland on the 30th of Nov and was planning to trek in the Everest region in December. I hiked the full Annapurna circuit in December 2012 and enjoyed it enormously. I would be interested in hearing more about your planned expedition and if you are still seeking further trek partners.

    • Hey Paul,
You’re more than welcome to join us. At the moment we have three people confirmed, including myself. The other two are: Pollen from Australia and Mark from England. There’s a possible forth person from Canada, but he hasn’t confirmed yet. Our guide, Ram Sharan Upreti, has more than ten years of experience in the mountains. This will be our sixth trek together in the Himalayas. So far we’ve trekked: Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit (Twice), Manaslu Circuit, Langtang/Gosaikunda, Annapurna Base Camp and Tilicho Lake.

How much time do you have in Nepal?

      Basa

  2. Hey Basa,

Thanks for the prompt reply. The expedition sounds like great fun.
I am planning to be in Nepal from the 30th Nov through until 26th Dec. Your expedition as mapped out would dovetail perfectly with my dates.
I will confirm if I am joining in the next day or so.
Does the price $1600 (US dollars?) cover accommodation in Kathmandu and airport pickup/dropoff ?
If not, can you recommend a good base in Kathmandu?
    Warm Regards, Paul

    • If we confirm 5 – 6 people, Ram can lower the price to $1500. The price includes airport pickup and drop-off, but you’ll have to pay for your Kathmandu accommodations. I usually stay at the Utse Hotel. The price is around $25 per night, which is a bit high for Nepal. But they are very nice people and treat me very well. I’m quite sure Ram can arrange for a much cheaper place, if you wish.
      Take Care, Basa

  3. Hi Basa,

Count me in for this adventure . ! All flights booked.
I am now arriving in Kathmandu on the 29th Nov and fly home on the 26th Dec.

    Warm regards,
    Paul
