Shivapuri Hiking Trails

Hey guys 🙂

I’m doing the Annapurna Circuit in March, but before I leave for Pokhara I would like to do a short, low altitude trek in the Shivapuri National Park (the closest, most convenient trekking range around Kathmandu Valley?????). I’ve been advised that the trek brings us to a good, scenic middle point of seeing the Everest, Langtang and Annapurna regions!

I’m currently in Thamel looking for any partner(s) interested to join me. I’m a 23 year old Aussie, first time Nepal visitor and first time trekker.

I believe it will be a perfect warm up for the Annapurna Circuit since it’s meant to be a relatively easy, low altitude trek and now would be the perfect time to depart as the weather is clear and the trails wouldn’t be so congested.

The hotel manager has given me a rough plan which follows:

2 nights/3days trek departing anytime within the next 7 days (23-29 February)
> Bus from Thamel to Sundarijal
> Trek 4 hours to Chisapani (overnight stay)
> Trek 6-7 hours to Nagarkot (overnight stay)
> Bus to Bhaktapur to see the temples at Durbar Square
> Back to Thamel

I’m easy going on the pace, and don’t really mind about going with or without a guide. Any ideas are up for discussion!
