Planning a 20 day trek in the remote Lower Dolpo & Dhorpatan area of Western Nepal in September 2017.

I’m looking for 2~4 like minded people to join in the trek. We will be a flying in to Juphal and be mostly camping throughout the trek and driving out from Muni via Beni to Pokhara. So if you are looking for an adventure on “the road less traveled” this could be for you? See the itinerary below.

Itinerary: Lower Dolpo and Dhorpatan

Day 01. Kathmandu – Nepalgunj flight

Day 02. Nepalgunj – Juphal flight and 4 hours trek to Kagani

Day 03. Trekking Kagani to Rainchi

Day 04. Trekking Rainchi to Phoksundo Lake

Day 05 – 06. Explore the village,lake and monasteries. Be acclimatized for Altitude

Day 07. Half day trek to advance base camp of Bagala

Day 08. Cross Bagala at 5169 meters and camp

Day 09. Cross Numala at 5300 meters and camp at Dhotarap

Day 10. Rest

Day 11. Trekking Dhotarap to Newarpani

Day 12. Trekking Newarpani to Laini

Day 13. Laini to Sahartara

Day 14. Sahartara to Sen Khola

Day 15. Senkhola to Dhule

Day 16. Dhule to Pelma

Day 17. Pelma to Dhorpatan (Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve Area)

Day 18. Short trek to Jaljala and rest for grand view next morning

Day 19. Jaljala to Muna (jeep meeting place)

Day 20. Return to Beni and to Pokahra (8 hours drive)

    I like the look of your itinerary and date of departure (I arrive back in Kathmandu on the 12th of September).

    Any chance you would be interested in adding an extra 10 days to explore Inner Dolpo since It’ll be within reach from Phoksumdo?


  2. Riley – sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you, but unfortunately I had to have back surgery and it was unforeseen and recovery is slow.
    I would just like to recommend you contact Amber in KTM if you need any help / support in doing a remote trek in Nepal.
