I want to trek in Nepal! I’ve never done anything like this and my first instinct is to just hire a guide through a trekking company. But, I KNOW it would be cheaper to hire a guide once in country (or not at all!!). I’m traveling solo so that makes me nervous. I’m looking at the Annapurna Circuit but I’m open to other treks and other time lines. Right now I’ll probably be arriving in early November and staying the month but I’m also looking at volunteering at a monastery in Thailand.

  1. Hi Shelby,

I’m a solo traveler doing Annapurna circuit early Nov, flying out to Thailand at the end of the month as well (meeting up with a buddy whose cycling from Cambodia). I’m super excited for the trip! I’m not interested in a guide/porter, but definitely would prefer to have a trekking partner. I’m keen on doing the NATT trails of the AC circuit to avoid the road and possibly hitting up daytrips such as Kang La pass from Ngawal if the conditions are good. I’m pretty interested in history and culture and really excited to see places like braga monastery and then relaxing in pokhara afterwards. I’ll probably be bringing a game called codenames that I hope to play on the trek.

  2. Hey guys, I’m flying in early november and also looking to do the Annapurna circuit. I don’t have any set plans but I’m thinking of starting to trek around the 10th but there is definitely nothing set it stone.

Let me know if you’re interested in starting around this time and we can chat some more/make a plan to meet up. I am currently speaking with a few other awesome people who are keen to meet up so hopefully we can get a good group of people going.

  3. Hi,
I’m going to Nepal next week and I was planing to do Annapurnas, Nar Phu or Mustang in november. I want to do it solo also so, if you are interested, let me know.

    • Hi Anie,

I’m looking for a partner to do the Annapurna Circuit with me beginning around the 6th of November. I’d like to do this without a porter or guide. Let me know if you’d be interested.

I’m also open to other treks, however, the circuit is of high interest.

      Cheers 🙂

  6. Hi guys !
    I’m Andrea, a 22-years-old French girl travelling solo !
Currently in Nepal I will be interesting in ! Plan to do the Annapurna trekking but looking for a partner ! Ok for me with or without a guide but I would rather a porter…
If one of you is still looking for someone, feel free to contact me !

  7. Hi, I am starting the trek later this week, no real set schedule but I want to take my time through the trek and see some side trips (Tillicho Tal.) I don’t know if anyone has the same sort of plans.

  8. Hi, I’m arriving on the 31st october to Kathmandu solo. I’m looking to start a trek early Nov……either Annapurna or Mardi Himal ( I hear that it’s very quiet and less trodden than the ACT etc). I’m assured a guide is’nt necessary and I’d rather do it on a low budget.
Let me know if you’re still looking for a partner/group.
