nar phu valley, khumbu 3 passes or other challenging routes (flexible)

Hi there. I’m looking for a partner / partners who may be interested in a challenging trek in April / May.

My preference at the moment is for either the Nar Phu Valley (10-12 days) or the Khumbu 3 Passes Trek (about 21 days, flying in and out of Lukla, side trip to EBC possible but not necessary). A guide is required for the permit for Nar Phu but for the 3 Passes we possibly wouldn’t need one, or could maybe hire one locally for each pass.

About myself: I’m English, 54 and fairly fit and experienced in Nepali trekking. I’ve previously trekked ABC, Poon Hill / Kopra Ridge, Manaslu Circuit, Langtang / Gosainkund and Jiri to EBC, both guided and solo. I carry my own pack, get fairly early starts and have a moderate to fast pace. I love the physical challenge of trekking but am also happy to take time out to ‘smell the roses’.

I plan to be in Kathmandu by about the 15th of April, and can be in Nepal until the 14th of May.

If you’re interested in a bit of an adventure around that time, lets see what we can do.

  1. Hi Angus,

I (German, 51 years) am also searching for partners to trek. My plans are to go to the Kanchenjunga area first (end of March/beginning of April) and then afterwards to attempt Mera peak in the Khumbu area (end of April/begining of May) after being acclimatised. Would you be interested to join me on Mera peak (and maybe Gokyo, Ngozumpa Tse, Renko La and Thame afterwards). You are also invited to join me to Kanchenjunga before but it doesn’t seem to fit in your schedule.
    Cheers Wolfgang

  2. Hey there, I’m thinking of doing the Nar-Phu Valley as well around the start/middle of april.

I’d love to add Tilicho Lake and the rest of the Annapurna Circuit to it as well, so I’d prefer to leave around the 10-12th from KTM to have some time left for these (I’m flying out end of April).

I’m curious if this would fit in your schedule and if you would be interested in going together.

  3. Hi. I am considering a trip to Nepal around this time. I’m fit and have done some trekking in India and Nepal though it was a few years ago. If you are interested in planning a trip we could meet up somewhere and go for a walk. I’m based in North Wales but get all over the country. Sean.
