Nar Phu Valley

I’m planning a trek to Nar Phu Valley which is regarded as The Lost Valley and looking for partners to hike with. During this trek, the highest point we’ll ever get to will be Kang La pass at 5320 mtrs. I’ve some previous experience with high altitude trekking and had recently done a solo trek to Tsho Rolpa glacial Lake in Rolwaling Valley during Winter. I’m a moderate pace hiker who love to have company of people and enjoys every bit of the journey. I’ll be doing this trek independently without any guide or porter. Below is the basic itinerary of the trek. I’m flexible with date and hiking pace. It will be a trip to remember for a lifetime.
Cheers!

Day 1 Kathmandu to Besisahar (6-7 hrs Bus Ride)
Day 2 Besisahar to Koto (5-6 hrs Jeep Ride)
Day 3 Trek Starts from Koto to Meta (8-9 hrs)
Day 4 Meta to Phu (7-8 hrs)
Day 5 Phu to Chyakhu (4-5 hrs)
Day 6 Chyakhu to Naar (4-5 hrs)
Day 7 Naar
Day 8 Naar to Kang La Pass – Ngawal (10-11 hrs)
Day 9 Ngawal to Manang (3-4 hrs) – Ice Lake – Manang (5-6 hrs)
Day 10 Manang to BesiSahar (Jeep Ride)
Day 11 Besisahar to Kathmandu/Pokhara

P.S. – After Nar Phu, the trek can be further extended by doing the side trek to Tilicho Lake (4919 mtrs.) and later Annapurna Circuit can be completed by crossing Thorang-La pass (5416 mtrs.).

  3. Hi Anil,
I would love to join you if you can depart on 20th Oct.
That will be great if I can find a partner to hike with.
To be frank, I don’t have much experience with high altitude hike.

    • Hello Min,
How are you ? I am interested in doing some trekking while travelling around Nepal Oct/Nov and I am looking for other trekking partners. I am travelling solo and since I prefer to trek without a guide or porter I am looking for other trekkers to join me. I did the Annapurna Circuit independently many years ago and met other hikers to trek with and enjoyed it immensely ! I’m planning to get a 3 month visa for Nepal so in between treks I would like to explore Nepal. Look forward to hearing from you 🙂
      Cheers,
      Deirdre

  5. re Covid-19
Does anyone know what the current trekking situation is at the moment? Is the circuit open? Are permits/TIMs available?

  6. Hi Anil,
I am very interested in this trek as well. I will be travelling from Kathmandu. I have no issue with the date. Since the due date is approaching please confirm so that I can arrange accordingly.
    Regards

  7. Hi Anil,
Since I did not receive any reply from your end, I just wanted to know if you still plan on trekking or not please let me know so that I can plan accordingly. Have you just dropped the idea?

    Cheers!!!
