Manaslu + Tsum Valley

Manaslu is the place to go if you´re looking for a secluded, non-touristy alternative to the other big treks. The trek is not too difficult as long as you stick to the default itinerary and don´t ascend too fast, listen to your body. The Tsum Valley is a world apart and should not be missed, time-permitting. The Tibetan influence here creates for a very different experience and sleeping in a gompa is a unique experience, as are the homestays. Start early enough on pass-day to counter any setbacks and you´ll be fine. It´s a long day but very doable. The descent after the pass is very slippery and yak-feet or something similar are a good investment though not essential (if you have good balance that is !) Tea-houses are abundant and sell pretty much everything, prices increasing as you get closer to the pass. Definitely a recommended trek, its´ natural beauty is unspoilt and world-class. Go now before it get´s too crowded..
