Two of us will be leaving Kathmandu Sept 25 or 26 for Arughat to do the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley, which should take about 20 days. We two plan to continue across the top of the Annapurnas, but anyone joining us could leave after Manaslu/Tsum by catching a vehicle down the east side of the Annapurnas to get to Pokhara or Kathmandu. You could also join us for the Annapurnas, or not. We have an excellent guide, which is required for trekkers doing Manaslu, so anyone joining us would share the guide cost. Crossing the Annapurnas through Manang and over Thorang Pass (Thorang La) will take another 5 to 7 days, so you would be in the Kali Gandaki Valley west of the Annapurnas after a total of 25 to 27 days where you could catch a vehicle down to Beni and then on to either Pokhara or Kathmandu.

  1. Hey, I’m planning to do the exact trip but I’m starting nearly a month early, around sep 6th. If you or anyone else is interested, please send me a message

  2. Hello Ross,

I have replied to one of your comments on another post. I am interested in joining you for possibly all of your intended trip. I wasn’t planning such a long trip but this may be doable. I need to be back in Australia by end of Oct. Please let me know if you are still looking for partners.

  3. Hello Ross,

I have researched your proposed trip and I am definitely interested in doing the full trip with you if we can get it done in time. I plan on flying out of Kathmandu on Oct31 so would need to be in Pokhora by Oct 30. I think it will be a great trek as Manaslu/Tsum sounds amazing, I will be glad to do some of the Annapurna trail unaffected buy roads and the Mustang area looks to be completely different both in landscape and culture. I hope to hear from you soon!

  4. Hello Ross,

I would be intressted in joinig the trekking, this sounds like an very attractive route for me. I just arrived in Kathmandu and plan to spend some time here to get introduced to the country and it’s culture for some days. Therefore starting somewhen around end of September would fit for me.

If you still plan the trekking, I would appreciate to hear from you and to get the latest uppdates.

    • Hi Christian — Good to hear from you. So far we were two — Glenn McDonald, a 45-year-old firefighter from Australia, joined on trekkingpartners — and another partner would be most welcome. You can contact me directly on Glenn arrives in Kathmandu on Sep 20 and I get there late at night on Sep 21, and we expect to travel to the Manaslu trailhead around Sep 26 and to start walking that afternoon. Email me directly so I can make more suggestions, including booking at the same hotel in Kathmandu and arranging your pick up at the airport when you arrive, for which we need your flight arrival info. Best regards, Ross
