  1. MIght be getting a little wet up there, the further you get into May, so plan for April if at all possible. Hope you find somebody but by the way – if you don’t, I did the Manaslu Trek with just myself and a guide in October 2014. There are ways around”that “2 person minimum group” ;-). If that’s an option I can introduce you to my facilitator.
It is a stunning, stunning, hike, you’ll love it.

    • How much did you pay for a guide? and how many days did you spend for this treck?

    • Hi Rick
I would like to do the trek preferably with more people but will go it alone if neccessary I would be very grateful for more information regarding the possibility to bypass th 2 person minimum

  2. I paid $25 per day for 14 days. We completed the trek a little faster but the initial payment for 14 days stood. I had to do a lot of shopping to find a guide at that price though!

  3. Good to know. Thanks for the info!

  4. I’m planning to do Manaslu in December and am looking for someone to accompany me as well as share costs of guide. If your dates are flexible, it would be good.

Rick, are you able to share your guide’s contact details?

    Regards
    Veda

  5. Hi Christine,

I am interested in doing this trek around a similar time. I had initially planned to do it solo but I am sure company would be great. I am aiming to complete it in 14 days or a little less. I am being put in touch with Richard Ball as he is apparently the guy to contact about this place. He organises guides etc. Do you want me to keep you in the loop ?

    • Hi Tahli,

Good work on obtaining this information. The cost is not a big concern and what you have set up looks good. I’m sure the per person price should be lower with the addition of extra people I’m more interested in just going and trekking and experiencing Nepal and finding compatible people to join in with for this trek.

I am headed to Thailand about April 15 and have an open and flexible schedule. Maybe we can discuss this trip a bit more. Have you found other people interested in partaking?

    • Great sounds like we are on the same page!
I have had another guy from Israel contact me who is interested as well. A guide messaged me and said he had two people from the USA that were doing a trek with him starting on the 2nd of May for $580 everything included. Ill keep you in the loop. If you want you can email me if thats easier?
      Speak soon.

  6. I have trekked into Samagaon the village before the Larkye La, and into Manaslu Base Camp and Punyen
We tented as there were few facilities; I would expect nothing much has gone on re development since 2012
PS This area was hit very hard by the 2015 earthquake
This trek can be combined with Annapurna circuit by exiting at Darapani, and thereby saving the long abit boring walk out following the Buri Gandaki as you did on the way in
Very interested as would like to experience Larke la
Am not fast at all….but very experienced
    PS Who is Richard Ball?
PPS I would never never do the Larke La solo unless you had an experienced guide
    Carole

    • Richard Ball is a guy that runs most of the treks in this area. I was put on to him by one of the correspondents from a trekking website. I think you are able to stay in tea houses the whole way now but I will double check. I would prefer to avoid buying and carrying camping gear if possible and staying in the tea houses is a nice way of contributing to the area I think. I am not familiar with the areas that you are talking about as I haven’t done much research but if you think this would be a better route I’m happy to go with that 🙂

    • This is the itinerary that I was advised of by one of the trekking experts not sure if it fits your budget as it works out about $650-$750 (approx $50 a day) for the 15 days which includes transport, permits, accommodation, but not food.

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat and Arughat to Soti Khola
Day 02: Trek from Soti Khola to Macha Khola
Day 03: Trek from Macha Khola to Jagat
Day 04: Trek from Jagat to Deng
Day 05: Trek from Deng to Namrung
Day 06: Trek from Namrung to Lho
Day 07: Trek from Lho to Sama Gau
Day 08: Acclimatization day in Sama Gau (Side trip to Manaslu Base Camp)
Day 09: Trek from Sama Gau to Samdo
Day 10: Acclimatization day in Samdo (Side trip to Tibetan Border)
Day 11: Trek Samdo to Dharmasala
Day 12: Trek from Dharmasala to Bimthang
Day 13: Trek from Bimthang to Tilije
Day 14: Trek from Tilije to Tal
Day 15: Drive from Tal to Beshi Sahar and Beshi Sahar to Kathmandu

  7. Christine and Tahli,
I would like to find a trekking partner(s) to experience Manaslu Circuit starting in mid April to mid May. I have flexibility and want to find fun adventurous people to experience this great area.

    • The more the merrier! I’ll keep you updated when I hear back from a guy that’s helping with the organizing

  8. Hi
I am also interested in Manaslu circuit trek can set out on April 12 and will be happy to join othe people to share costs and experience.

    • Hi Ayelet I am not in Nepal until the 27th of April so that will be a bit early for me. You might want to start a thread if you need people for that date as this one is for May 🙂

  9. Thanks for the info, Tahli! Keep me posted on your plans and details. Craig – when are you planning on being in Nepal? It’s looking like it’ll be closer to mid-May or later for me now.

    • Hi Christine. I am in Thailand about mid -April for ten days and then I am open until June 01 (returning back to Calgary) and even that is open. I have flexibility and would just like to plan this trek and buddy up with someone compatible in advance and book flights and such. I understand the weather window for this trek deteriorates the later you go into May but it is weather and who knows. Tahli is planing an end of April start date but this will not work for you? Maybe we can talk via Viber, messenger,Whats APP etc. Hope all is well.

  10. I have a trip in California planned for the weekend of May 6-8 so April 27th unfortunately won’t work and I’ll need to go later in May though if the conditions are worse, maybe this will have to be a trip that happens next year! Keep me posted with your plans – I’m on WhatsApp if that’s easier.

  11. I know a very experienced and competitively priced guide. I have used him on Manaslu and he was fantastic. Let me know if you want to contact him! Have fun!

    • Hi Ragnhild,
Me too, have rough plan to do the Manaslu Trek this year.Maybe create a small group of maximum 4 people. Any time in Sept/Oct, works fine for me.Prefer to have a shared Porter, to split costs, and to go easy, with or without a guide. Can handle local language, so communication is not a problem. But my idea at 54, is to go slow, soak up the scenery, and get plenty of pictures.Let me have complete cost breakdown, day by day, if you have. Also need the contacts of people you used.
      Ciao,

    • Hi Ragnhild – I would be interested in your contact please! I’m planning to trek in October – still undecided between Manaslu and Annapurna though.

  12. Hello, I have a guide from a previous trek.

My girlfriend got her trip cancelled due to work nonsense, so now I’m looking for person or people to split the permits and whatnot.

about me: Ive done three himalaya treks previously, and want to keep costs down, nothing crazy, not a race.

    Anybody leaving around that time?
