Manaslu Circuit Trek

Hi Everyone,

I’m flying into Kathmandu on 7 April 2017 with a view to trekking the Manaslu Circuit in 14-15 days starting on either 9 or 10 April (to give time to prepare and get over the jet lag), finishing on 22 or 23 April 2017.

I’m looking for trekking partners to hike with, and a guide as this is a requirement for the Manaslu Circuit. I’m also thinking about using a porter to provide local employment and free my back to enjoy the views more.

My general fitness levels are good as I do a lot of running including half and full marathons, and I’ve done quite a few single day hikes and am planning a couple of multi-day hikes in between now and April to get my trekking muscles in condition.

Hope you can join me!

  1. Hi Robin, I am looking for a companion to share the permit as well. Once the permits are entered or checked at the entry check post, it may be possible to take our own pace in case if that is comfortable. I am planning to continue with Annapurna circuit as Manslu may not take that long as recommended by travel agencies. As I am from Bhutan and share many common identity, I hope to get max benefit of the journey especially cultural aspects. I have versatile trekking experiences of similar or more difficult treks in Bhutan. If you are affirmative, perhaps we could apply for permits together once in Kathmandu. My plan is a week earlier, but we could discuss this as permit takes the priority. Best regards Padam B Chuwan

  2. Hi Robin,

it seems we have the same itinerary and fitness level. I will arrive in Kathmandu on the 8th of April. Plan to start the Manaslu trek on the 9th or 10th, finishing at the 23rd of April. I found two travel agencies which offer tours during that time. One is called Nepal Eco Adventures the other Green Valley Nepal. I just contacted both to check if the tours are still available. Cost around 1000€.
Tell me if you are still looking for a trekking buddy.

    • Hello Steffi,

i wanna do the Manaslu Trek with Tsum Valley (21 Day) and will start around the 10th of april. Do you have some more days to include the Tsum Valley? I will arrive on 4th of april at KTM.

      Just let me know.

    • Hi – looks like Robin is no longer planning this but about others?

My start date is still undecided but around that of people on this thread. Quite keen on Tsum + Manaslu trek and definitely fall in the fit category. In fact think the entire trip can be done in 14 days or so (excl. travel to and from KTM) since the acclimatization gained in Tsum Valley would be afterwards

Will also be posting for Three Pass

  4. Hi all, Aplogies I’ve had to change my plans and won’t be doing the circuit this year after all. Sorry for the delay in replying, however feel free to coordinate with each other.

    Best wishes,
