Tsum Valley was a restricted area until it was opened for a little information available on the area. The Tsum Valley is a sacred Himalayan Buddhist pilgrimage valley situated in northern Gorkha, Nepal. Literally “Tsum” means vivid against the majestic backdrop of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal and Boudha Ranges, this serene Himalayan valley is rich in ancient art, culture and religion. The local people are mostly of Tibetan origin and speak Tibetan dialect. This circuit traverses the Tsum Valley the Manaslu area in Nepal, and southern parts of Tibet. The Tsum Valley has long history of Buddhism. The Buddhist saint Milarepa is believed to be meditated in the caves of these mountains. This Tsum valley also boasts some unique and historic monasteries, including Rachen Gompa and Mu Gompa. Tsum Valley is the local people are mostly of Tibetan origin and speak a Tibetan dialect. The people in Tsum have a strong faith in Buddhism. They pray to Buddha, Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) and some bodhisattvas. They install Prayer Flags, Khata, or Mani walls, burn butter lamps in monasteries and believe in the reincarnation of Lamas. The histories and way of life of supernatural entities and stories about them are well-known. Nevertheless Prayer Flags, Khata, or Mani walls are installed and ritual burning of juniper is performed to purify an area against such supernatural entities.

Manaslu trekking is geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating. The Tibetans of the upper Budi Gandaki, a region known as Nupri, are direct descendants of Tibetan immigrants. Their speech, dress and customs are almost exclusively Tibetan and there is still continuous trade between Nupri and Tibet. The mountain views in Nupri are sensational and the Larke pass (5,213m) is a dramatic Himalayan pass to cross. Trekking through beautiful village including Samagaon, samdo as well as Gandaki and Marsyangdi valley, Visit ancient monastery in Samagaon, Larkya La bazaar, exploring around aqua-blue green Lake Birendra and crossing snow covered high pass Larkya La.

This trek is considered as technical one and suitable for sporty people. If you are moderately fit and have a sense of adventure you will enjoy this trek. The program is designed to acclimatize you gradually and not to experience high altitude sickness. Please note that the following program is prepared in the fact basis however can be change in some circumstances but adjustments will have to made during the trekking. We request you to be flexible with the situation to enjoy yourself.
As the trek is designed for camping arrangement, everything is handled by our team of porters, sherpas and cooks who carry the equipment, set up the camp and have hot meals waiting for you at every food break.
