Makalu Base Camp Trek

Hi,
We are Raffaele (36) and Maria Luisa (38), a couple from Italy, currently staying in KTM. We were initially planning to do the Manaslu trek but decided instead to go for the Makalu base camp trek as it’s a more remote and pristine area. We will use the Makalu Arun Social Trek agency as we now that it’s reliable. It’s also involved in social and community-based programs and we are pleased to know that our money are going to help somebody who really needs them. We are planing to leave KTM on 22nd/23rd of March (max 24th) and reach Khanbari, via Hile, in 2 days by public trasport (but also flying to and from Tumlingtar is an option). The trekking itself is 16 days long, including 1 rest/acclimatization day and 1 exploration day around the base camp. It will be our first experience in Nepal but we are reasonably fit and ready to tackle a challenging trek. We are on the low budget side and looking to share agency and guide/porter fees (and of course have a good time!) with some other fellow trekkers (max 5-6).
