  1. Hey Nat,

Lukla, Gorakshep, B/C and back to Lukla is self guided and should take about 15 days. The trail is clear- no guide necessary. you will stay at tea houses- Factor 3,000 NR a day and you will be eating well and taking hot showers- not to mention drinking in excess of 5L of water a day.

Dont buy expensive gear. everything can be bought in KMD- except favorite walking shoes/boots & Proper eye protection. Get sun glasses that filter 80% or more visible light. April is going to be harsh, the heavy mountain climbers start arriving late march/april. prices start going up and accommodations get slim. thats why Im going pre-climbing season. need more details? email me-

  2. Hi Nat,

I am arriving KTM early April ( 3/5 Apr) But have not book anything yet. Not sure if you want to go for Island Peak coz my plan is to trek EBC and Island peak, Let me know if you keen for Island peak as well. I am traveling alone and this is my first time in Nepal. Looking for trekking partner to keeping cost down. My trip will end somewhere 30 Apr.

  3. Hi
Im only going to be doing EBC and won’t include Island Peak. Im also including 2 extra days on top of the standard 12 day EBC trek – an extra night at Khumjung and at Dugla (if i can find a bed). I’ll be hiring a porter on arrival in Lukla.

I was looking at hitting EBC around the same dates but the group I was planning with has bailed and I’m still really wanting to go. What kind of price would you be looking at? If you’re still looking for people to trek with.

  10. Hi Natalie,

My boyfriend and I are flying into Kathmandu arriving on the 10th after a pretty long journey via istanbul then dubai so i’m not sure we could make a departure to Lukla on the 11th as needed to buy some kit first in Kathmandu and book flights- Were you planning to trek straight out of Lukla the day you fly in to start your trek?

    Cheers jenni

  12. Hi Natalie,

I would prefer to leave earlier but I could do your dates too. I like your itinerary b/c it has the extra side trips. I think that’s much better than the standard EBC. You seem v. well organized already.

How many ppl are on your trek so far? I saw you posted this several months ago.
How much are you budgeting to spend?
What do you know of the weather in mid-late April? Will it be getting too close to the monsoon/cloudy obscuring the mountain view?
Do you have a day by day itinerary that you can send to me? You can PM me.
