Langtang trek from around the 22nd of April

I am looking to go trekking in the Langtang region for around 7-10 days from the end of this week (short notice I know!). I am flexible around dates etc.

I am a British male, easy going and friendly. I’m 34 but not especially grown up. I am definitely not a fitness freak or high speed trekker. I like to take it relatively easy, enjoy the sights and the villages on the way and work in a fair few rest stops. Saying that, I do enjoy walking and the exercise. I would be happy to travel with anyone who doesn’t take themselves or trekking too seriously and wants to enjoy the countryside, mountains and Nepali culture. After the trek I’m going to be spending a couple of months voluntary teaching so this is my last chance to explore more of Nepal.

Hey Andrew,

I also decided completely last minute that I’d like to do a trek!  Not sure if you’ve left already, but I’m available as soon as Sunday (currently in Kathmandu / Boudhanath) and have to be back in the city no later than Tuesday, April 30th.  I think our travel styles are pretty compatible–I’m in good shape and up for solid hikes, but am definitely not super hardcore, and enjoy a little more leisure through exploring the countryside, mountains and culture.

One note though, I’m not sure what your budget is like, or how luxurious you’re looking to trek, but I’m trying to do it a little on the cheap.  I just talked to a guy who said he just finished multiple treks around Nepal and averaged about $25 a day total.  That or a little more sounds good to me =)

Oh yes, I’m a 27 year old American, laid back and cheerful.

Hey,

Sounds good to me. Not sure when you will see this but I am in Thamel at the moment. My email address is a_aitken35@hotmail.com or I have a Nepali phone number 98052884109, though people tell me they have had difficulty getting through on it for some reason. Or if you get this soon I am going to go to a place called the ‘organic cafe’ which is near to Kathmandu GUest house in Thamel opposite the road house cafe. Or, failing that, we could meet tomorrow. I am out of Kathmandu until the evening but could meet in Thamel then. I am definitely up for a cheap trek!

Hello again,

The reason my number doesn’t is it’s wrong – it’s 9805884109, there is no ’2′. Give me a call or text if you can, otherwise I will be back in Thamel this evening, going to Patan today. I will go for a drink in the Full Moon bar at around 8, north of the Kathmandu guest house – apparently the beer is cheap!

Hey Andrew,

I sent you an email, but figured I’d follow up on here too.  I unfortunately don’t have a phone, though tomorrow might be better for me to meet up.  I haven’t been to Thamel yet, but let me know some place reasonably easy to find and I’ll see you there at whatever time!

  1. Hey David and Andrew,

I’ve been reading your feed and you guys sound like exactly the kind of pace I’m looking for. I’m a lady of the hills (27 year old female from Vancouver, Canada) and love to trek but enjoy chilling out and smelling the roses if the opportunity arises. I’m in Kathmandu right now, and am flexible with dates but would really like to leave sooner then later. I have been trekking in the east for a little bit which is why I am so last minute but I am planning to move to the region tomorrow. Let me know if this is something that interests you. I might try to call you in a couple of hours if I don’t hear from you – jenna.d.welch@gmail.com.
    Cheers,
    Jenna
