Fellow Trekkers! I am planning an epic Ladakh North-South traverse:
from Kargil in the north, down to Padum, over the Ladakh range into Rupshu, over to Tso Moriri, and eventually crossing into Spiti over the Parang La, ending in Kibber village in Himachal.

This will be a long trek, probably around 40 – 50 days; if anybody is interested, but is put off by this long duration, you could join me also for shorter parts of it, such as for example the Lamayuru – Padum bit.

I will be trekking without guide and porters, independent camping style wherever possible.

No technical climbing skills are required, but you should be comfortable/ experienced with walking long’ish days at high altitudes and be confident about doing the occasional challenging river-crossing.

I myself have just finished my studies and want to get some mountain time under my belt before getting into the corporate grind. I’ve wondered around the Indian Himalayas independently a bunch (including three hikes in Ladakh), and would consider myself an experienced trekker.

Hit me up if you are interested and we can have a chat (:

  1. Hi I am interested. Can you share plan detail day wise and which places discover in this trek ?

    • Hi Prakash, and thanks for your interest.

The whole trek will cover around 37 days, so providing the daily itinerary would be a little much, until you’re fairly certain that you want to join me. But the rough outline would be as follows:

Lamayuru – Padum – Phuktal (along the Tsarap river) – Pang – Tso Kar – Tso Moriri – Parang La – Kibber.

      Cheers, Kili
