Kanchenjunga trek – trekking partners needed!

Hi all,

I’m currently in Kathmandu and searching for trekking partners for a 14-day Kanchenjunga South Base Camp, to share the cost of a guide and permits. As the fees charged by trekking agencies in KTM are a bit beyond my budget, I’d like to hire an independent guide upon arrival in Taplejung and engage him just for the upper parts of the trail. I read in another thread this might be possible.

According to the latest information I have, the trek is now fully tea-house style, but I’d prefer to carry a tent and camp whenever possible. I’ll have all the necessary gear, so can share the tent and cooking gear if needed.

If anyone is interested to join me, please let me know asap. I’d like to set off no later than Monday 4th November.

Looking forward to meeting you! 🙂

Eva (27 yrs, Slovakian, experienced and fit trekker, currently traveling long-term around South & Southeast Asia)

  3. Hi, I am planing to to go, to both basecamps, if weather permits.

To the 2nd Felix I wrote an email (‘cos there is an email), so this is pretty much for the 1st Felix, or anybody else :-).

I am still in India (Rishikesh), waiting, if somebody would go, or not. Alone, this trek is near impossible (permit, logistic).

Do let me know ASAP, so I know which way to head (that is Kathmandu quickly, or central India to Andamans slowly)
