Independent EBC Trek, Dec 28th 2013 – Jan 11th 2014

I’ve arranged a last minute holiday to Nepal over New Year to attempt the EBC Trek. I’m looking for any one else who might be in that area at the same time who would like a trekking partner, particularly for the more remote stages.

I plan to Fly to Lukla around the 29th Dec and start trekking towards EBC from then. I’m limited with time so must return by the 12th Jan to KTM, but of course trekking partners are free to pursue their own timetable, perhaps we could just join up for a portion of the trek? Let me know.

  1. Hey Matty,

I will be reaching KTM on 30th Dec n will start the EBC trek from Lukla from 31st Dec. Let me know if you are flexible to start on 30/31st Dec? If so, we could trek together.

  2. Matty,
did the Lukla, B/C & Kalapatar trip back in 2009. ready to do it again. SLOWLY, this time. what do you think about 10 days to Gorakshep- day trip to kalapatar & day trip to B/C.? What do you think about 5 days coming back to lukla….slowly?. contact me off line.

  3. Hey Matty,

R u still proceeding with the trek? Hv you managed to find anyone yet?

I’m thinking of heading to Nepal and starting the EBC trek. Yet to book my flights but shld be there the same time as you r, give and take a day or 2. Would love to take in Gokyo valley via Cho La pass too as an extension although I don’t know if you have the time.

Are you thinking of doing it independently or hiring guide?

Let me know if u r still interested, and maybe we can work something out (for a full trek or portion of it, like u said).

  4. Due to recent events in Bangkok (where I am living now) im changing my itinerary from 11th Feb 2014. Now planing to fly on Friday 27 th Dec- not February 11th as planned. The plan now; gear up at & sleep near Shona’s- Hang around KMD for a few days – shopping, sight seeing & buying Domestic ticket to lukla. then take my sweet time – I mean slowly…………smelling the roses, drinking yak milk chai and getting to B/C feeling fresh. any takers
