Everest region mid November

Will be in Nepal November 16th till December 5th.

After deliberating for ages between the huge variety of treks in Nepal , I decided to trek EBC-Kala Pattar-Gokyo-Gokyo Ri. Would like to continue on another pass, preferably Kongma La and Chukung Ri, but that will depend on available time and physical feeling.

I plan to fly KTM-Lukla Nov 17th, and return Lukla-KTM on Dec 3rd.

Looking for partner/s to to trek with, I’d prefer no more than 4 people all together, for either the entire thing or just sections on the trek. This is mainly for safety reasons on the passes, but would also be great to share this awesome looking trip with other interesting and like minded people.

I’m a 38yo guy from Israel, speaking fluent English, Spanish, and Portuguese. I have past backpacking and trekking experience from South America, New Zealand, and Asia.

I can be contacted either here or dondey99@yahoo.com

Happy and safe trekking to all,

  1. Have you decided on what trek you are doing? If you are planning on EBC let me know

  2. I’m hoping to do Manaslu + Tsum Valley from Nov 19 to Dec 10 or so. It’s supposed to be phenomenal. Here is a trip report with some details: http://fedup.com.au/images/stories/nepal/ManasluTsumValleyTrek.pdf

If you’d be interested in gathering 2-3 other people and doing this, I’m absolutely on board.

  3. Hi Drake,

The trip report you posted is great, thanks.

However, after reading it I’m not sure it will fit in my time frame. I have a total of 18 days including days for travel to/from the trail, which was the actual walking time these guys did, but is shorter than the itinerary they provide. It also means that for this trek I cannot wait beyond November 17th.

A not too bad option as far as I’m concerned could be to explore the Tsum valley without completing the Manaslu circuit, and compensating that with an extra 1-2 day camping excursion beyond Mu Gompa.

I have a fast pace, so I believe I can complete the trek in 16 days by giving up the night stay at Mu Gompa, and doing Lho to Samdo in one day (and maybe also taking the jeep to Soti Khola). However, it does not leave any room for free days or unexpected delays such as snow on the pass.

Anyway, I suspect the only-Tsum option and the 16 day option would not suit you as you have a few days more than I have, which will allow you to complete this trek in easy pace. What do you think?

  4. Hi,
I’m planning an EBC trek as well. Are you still looking for trekking partners?
