Everest Base Camp/Three Passes – Beginning of March 2014

20 year old guy who is planning to do the Everest circuit rising from Lukla to Chhukung, crossing the Kongma La to Lobuche and Everst Base Camp, continuing over Cho La to Goyko the crossing the Renjo La to Thame and Namche Bazaar ending up back in Lukla, spending around 20 days. Whether i am going to hire a porter or not i haven’t really decided on yet but i am planing on hiring a guide as i have no notable trekking experience. Regarding accommodation i really like the idea of camping versus staying in the teahouses (i am planning on hiring equipment in Kathmandu) but this isn’t definite either. I will be arriving in Kathmandu in the end of february starting the trek from Lukla one of the first days of march. If you are around the same age as me (18-25ish) and thinks this sounds interesting then stay in touch! i would love to have one or several trekking partners to share the experience with! /Mads 🙂

  1. Hi Mads,

Like you I’m also looking at crossing the three passes without a guide or porter and stay at tea houses. My plan is to arrive in KTM on 14.03.14 and start the trek itself on 17.03.14. Presently, my girlfriend and hopefully 3 other people from trekking partners will joining me. I’m giving myself 16 days to complete the trek.

Please let me know what you think.

    Kind Regards,

  2. Hi Dipesh,
appreciate your reply. Unfortunately its a bit to late, given that i have to finish the trek around march the 25th.

  3. Hi Mads,

That’s a shame as we would  have taken the same route. You may wish to contact Nellie from trekking partners as she’s looking for partners to travel on/around the time your traveling. Plus she seems very nice based on the emails that she has sent.

Have a safe trip and if you don’t mind please keep in touch as I would like to know how your trip went

    Kind Regards,

  4. Hello,

I am planning on trekking to Everest base camp and I am looking for a group to go with. My dates are very flexible but I am generally aiming for the beginning of march. I would like to use my tent and possibly hire a local guide or porter in Kathmandu. Please message me if you are interested in considering trekking together.
