Everest Base Camp Trek following Island Peak climb
We will start our journey from Kathmandu on September 12. There are two part of our trip. First one is to Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar that we are planning to do mostly independently (we’ll hire porter from Lukla). After completing Kalapathar, we will head to Chukhung and start our second phase to Island peak climb. Since this peak climbing is bit technical, we will be doing that with professional guides and trainers. Talked with few operators already and planning to take a 4 day Island peak package from one of the operators. They will provide the equipment, support and training.
We are on a shoestring budget. The first phase will cost around US$ 1200 including domestic flight, tea house accommodation, food and basic clothing-gear purchase. If you already have clothing and equipment (trekking boot, backpack, thermal, jackets etc) you may save approximately $300-$400 from this mentioned budget.
The second phase, Island peak climbing, will cost approx US$600. This is the amount we will pay the operator who will provide equipment, guide, food, tents etc for the 3-4 day climbing expedition.
Please leave me a message if you want the detailed itinerary.

can i ask where you got the Island Peak price from? Thanks
Hi Kitty, thanks for your interest.
We have been talking to few operators but didn’t confirm with anyone yet. We are planning to confirm with one of them after visiting when we reach Kathmandu on Sep 10th.
If it helps, I will mention the operator detail after we confirm with them.
Thanks 🙂
