Everest Base Camp Trek
Hey guys, I’m planning on doing EBC over a course of 12-14 days from 1st November March 2019.
I’ve done the Annapurna circuit last year over 19 days. I don’t intend to take a guide or a porter. I’m sure we can work things out by doing a bit of reading beforehand, using a map and apps along the way (alongside asking people the way of course). The extra three days are for acclimatisation if needed.
I don’t intend to speed across – I’m a slow and steady paced type. Would be fun to have a bunch of us doing it together with lots of interesting life stories/ have some laughs along the way.
I’m not a massively talkative person (or atleast trying not to be nowadays), enjoy silence, meaningful conversations, meditation and yoga. Been to Nepal a few times and I love the place.
Budget: low to middle. It’s very possible to do the whole thing easily under 800 pounds I think – so will be aiming for as low as possible (mainly for the fun of it.. but willing to spend where needed).
My rough trekking itinerary (will most likely have some modifications based on acclimatisation days):
Day 01: Land in Kathmandu and get trekking permits
Day 02: Meet up and prep
Day 03: Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,610 m), 4 hours
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,445 m), 6 hours
Day 05: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860 m), 5 hours
Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4,360 m), 4 hours
Day 07: Trek to Lobuche (4,930 m), 5 hours
Day 08: Trek to Gorak Shep (5,160 m) and Everest Base Camp, 7 hours
Day 09: Trek to Kala Pathar (5,545 m) and back to Pheriche (4,280 m), 7 hours
Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar, 6 hours
Day 11: Trek back to Lukla, 8 hours
Day 12: Fly to Kathmandu from Lukla
Let me know if you want to join in for the adventure 🙂
Hope you’re well,
