Everest Base Camp Trek

Hello!

Solo traveler looking for (a) trekking buddy(s) in October 2018.
24 year old, US, male. Leaving Japan after teaching for 3 years.

Considerable hiking and backpacking experience, in Japan’s mountains. Experience primarily consists of 2-5 day solo traverses.

I will be arriving in Nepal at the start of September. Plan on spending the tail end of monsoon season sightseeing in the Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur area. Once weather clears up and stabilizes in October, I hope to head for the Everest region with the aim of making it to Everest Base Camp. Considering to split costs for a porter or guide. Though I’m fit, I would like to take an average or even relaxed pace to allow for time to draw the surrounding scenery.

If you’re interested or have questions, please ask!

  1. Hi Florian.

I’m Eveline, 25 and I just finished a master degree in sustainable energy technology in the netherlands. I have a few months travelling before starting grad school.
I will be travelling Nepal end of august until somewhen in October and would also like to go to EBC. I grew up in switzerland, and I did a few hikes in the Andes. However I have never gone as high and not without a guide, but considering the popularity of the trek and how many people you’ll meet on the way, I think it would be fine. But I am open to share cost for a guide. Considering trekking pace, I definitely also go to enjoy and not as a sports challenge. It should also be okay to go at ones own pace and meet up a bit further along.

Anyways, if you want we can try to meet up somewhen beginning september and see how it goes?

    Best,

    Eveline

  2. Hi Flo,
I was also looking for travel partner around this time. I will be arriving to Nepal around sept 28 and want to go EBC by the end of spet or beg oct with a travel buddy. I m fluent in English and Nepali so i could be an asset for you. I can share the cost of porter which i like to have. We can meet up in kathmandu and decide further details. I am open to more people joining the group.

    Thanks,

    Suj

  3. Hi Florian,
I’m Anna and 20 years old. I am from Germany and before I starte studying I just wanna explore the world and travel as much as I can. I’m going to be in Nepal at the 18th September and I will stay for about a month and I’m planning a hike to Everest Base Camp as well.

I would like to have a travel buddy as well and I’m also open for more people joining the adventure because I think it’s much more fun to trek in a little group than just on my own.

Let me know if you are interested and maybe we could catch up in Kathmandu and see how things work out:)

    Regards,

    Anna

  4. Hey Florian,
I am also interested in doing the EBC trek. I get in to Kathmandu October 1st and start a yoga teacher training October 15th. My timeline is not very flexible as you can tell but nonetheless, I’m eager to make this trek happen. It would be awesome if we could get a group together and share on guides, porters, and just an overall great experience. I’d be glad to lead some yoga as well especially with some mountainous views. I look forward to hearing back from you.

    All the best,
    Melanie
