Everest Base Camp Trek

This will be my second trip to Nepal – did the Annapurna base camp trek a few years ago. My wife and I are planning on doing the Everest Base Camp Trek in mid-September. Here’s our plan:

September 15th – land in Kathmandu
September 16th – get TIMS cards and park passes
September 17th – Kathmandu to Jiri/Shivalaya by bus
September 18th – start the hike from J/S area to Lukla (may take about a week)
From there to EBC. We’re thinking of following this route:

1) Over Mong La to Phortse
2) High trail to Pangpoche, continue to DIngpoche
3) Acclimatization in DIngpoche, hike to Chukhung
4) To Lobuche (may stay 2 nights)
5) Gorak Shep, possibly climb Kala Pattar
6) Visit EBC in the morning and possibly hike down to Lobuche or Dulgha, or even Periche
7) To Tengpoche, visit monastery
8) To Namche
9) To Lukla
10) Fly KTM

Entire trip – roughly 21 days. We’d love to join up with other trekkers for part or all of this trip. Thanks!
