Everest Base Camp – May 2014

Hi,

I am looking for a trekking partner for Everest Base Camp trek. I am planning to go for trek in May 2014. I am Indian – 30 years of age. I live in Mumbai, India. I love music and photography. I am open for suggestions. I have not yet decided on tour operator. I will do it in the month of March / April 2014 because it makes sense then. All my plan depends on finding a good company. Without company it would be very boring to go all alone.

Looking forward to hearing from interested ones.

Thanks
Prateek

  7. I am planning to go to Base camp by Motorcycle from Kathmandu in April/May 2014. I m from Delhi and looking to share an agancy.

  8. Hi there, I would also be very very keen on going to EBC. can you provide some more details? the cost part of it?

I have done some treks before and got some experience of trekking in snow as well. But EBC is altogether a different game. Do you plan to stay at EBC over night or may be more?

You must not do EBC solo for sake of getting bored, as you can not get bored at EBC for sure. But you must have company for safety. I know trekkers loosing life staying at EBC also! you got to be very careful.

  9. Hii Prateek,
I am also looking at the similar dates for planning my trek to EBC. Have you zeroed in on any tour operator.

  10. Hello guys.. i believe i have given great details about the trek, itinerary, costs and expenses and just about everything at http://www.trekkingpartners.com/requests/footloose-trekkers-abc-and-ebc-with-gokyo-trek-may-2014/.. if the dates of my itinerary are convenient for you, feel free to tag along..

  11. Also, if you are going so far as EBC, in the Everest Region, it would be a great idea to trek to Gokyo and seek the Gokyo Lakes and trek to the top of Gokyo Ri to see amazing views from the top.. its just a suggestion.. give it a thought..

  12. Hey Prateek,

  15. Hello again! I thought I would update with my progress.

I have been talkling to a Nepalese guide who quoted me around $1000 (Canadian) to do EBC. This would cover 2 nights in Kathmandu, a tour, accommodation on EBC trek, all TIMs, park entry fees, airport pickup if needed, flight to Lukla, buses etc, supplies, breakfast, lunch and dinner daily and a guide. I told him I don’t want to book until I am in Kathmadu. But he has a good reputation so I think I’ll probably use him. Unless anyone thinks the price or plan seems off? Sounds normal from what I’ve read. The cost can really add up fast when you add all those little things together.

This is the guide I’ve been talking to on Facebook:

If any of you are interested in joining me for this trek I have not set a date yet. I can leave anytime between May 4-14. I anticipate it will take approximately 14 days.
The person I’ve spoken to says for a good early plane ticket to Lukla we should book a week or 2 ahead.

So this is what I am looking at doing at the moment 🙂
