Everest Base Camp, idealy hiking from Shivakya to Lukla leaving 12th Oct-ish (flexible)

‘I’m a 29 year old gal from England, just arrived in Kathmandu and looking for some easy going nice peeps who might want to join me on on the full Everest Base Camp trek, stating with a 5/6 day hike to Lukla.

This starts in Shivalaya, which I hear is around 12 hours on a local bus from hell from Kathmandu! However, the good points (according to LP…) are that this avoids the flight to Lukla, and gives a few days of quiet trekking before hitting the crowds at Lukla. It would be about 3 weeks in total, flying back from Lukla.

Ideally looking for a group of 2-4 for company and to share the cost of a guide and porter, I’m fairly flexible on starting dates, sometime in the next week, as the itinerary can be flexed. Fitness wise I’ve done a hit of trekking in the past but mostly have cycling legs from a long trip from Alaska to Mexico this year so am expecting a bit of pain! I’m in no rush and just want to enjoy the journey.

Look forward to hearing from you! I’m in Kathmandu for the next few days – PM me if you are interested and would like to meet up.

I’m open to the idea of doing this without porter and/or guide to keep costs down, and also flying to Lukla if needed to save time

  1. Hi Charlotte,

Not sure if you’ve left yet or what your plans are but I’ll be arriving on the 14th and looking to do the exact same trip as you. If you’re still around and interested let me know!
