Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes Trek
Hello fellow travelers, I’m Matteo from Italy. Will do the EBC trek starting from Jiri and possibly add Gokyo along the way. Landing in Katmandu the 14th of april will most likely head to Jiri the 15/16.Got a route plan but wouldn’t mind to add some recommendations! wanted to do it independently so without guides or porters apart for some day-hikes maybe but still open on that, would be great to share the hike and the cost with some of you travelers!
About myself: living at 1600m in the Alps I’m a quite fit trekker, that said i have no rush as i love watching mountains and the outdoors in general. I’m as well amateur photographer and a very chilled out person 😉
hope to hear from you soon!
Greetz Matteo

Hey Matteo,
sounds like a good plan, sounds like my plan! I’ll arrive on the 15th and wanted to do the Trek from Jiri to EBC aswell (starting from KTM on the 17th). I’m also looking for a hiking buddy (-ies), to look out for each other and have some company. I have plenty of time so I wanted to take some rest days in between and maybe a side hike, if there is something special to see.
I’m 31 years old, relaxed, love hiking (Alps, Provence, Appalachians), so I’m used to long distance treks, although not at such high altitudes, yet!
Are you interested in teaming up? How tight is your schedule (my flight back is on May 24th – but don’t worry I wasn’t planning on walking that slow:). Just let me know.
Hey guys!
Im also planning a longer trekk in the everest area. Like you I have lots of time on my hands, and no itineary set in stone. Im going without guide or porter but would be great with some company.
Im in Nepal at the moment and resting from a trekk in the Annapurna region. Somewhere between 15-20 april would be
ideal dates to start.
Im 21 years old and in good shape. Can hold a good and fast pace if needed but prefer to enjoy the walk and not rush. Pretty laid back overall 🙂 let me know if any of you guys want to team up!
