Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes Trek

no strict plan yet ; will be landing into Lukla on the 26th of November ; and will be flying out on the 15th of December , can do 16th too if needed.

I want to take it up as a challenge and am pretty fixed on doing this without any guide or porter support . have done an independent trek to Annapurna a couple of years back so i don’t think this would be any different .

Not particularly set on the route. planning on winging it once i get there . As of now thinking of doing a clockwise circuit ; namche ; gyokyo ; cho la ; lobuche ; ebc ; lobuche ; dingboche and back to namche ; completely flexible to any better suggestion

I’m mainly looking for someone to tag along with through the cho la pass leg heard its not recommended to go about it alone and if not will have to take the longer route down through periche . I don’t think it would be too difficult to find someone on the trail but if we could go about the entire thing together i guess that would be better too.

hit me up if you are interested .

  1. hello arun, is your dates finalized or any plans of starting early like 16 or 17th november?

    • Hi Pravin ,

Sorry man , have a couple of national holidays here in Dubai and that’s the only stretch of days where i can get to a total of 23 days for the trek with the holidays i have left at work.

ill be in KTM on the 25th and i have to leave on the 17th . Inside there I’m flexible with the route.

  2. Hi Arun, I arrive in Kathmandu on the 25th Nov as well and am keen to do EBC / Gokyo lakes, getting over to Lukla on 26th would be ideal! Have done numerous hikes in the past, not been over to Nepal before though. Im fit and want to do the trek without guide / porter. Have a flight out of Kathmandu on 23rd December, so your dates work well! Give me a shout if you are keen!

    • Hi Sam ,

That sounds great. Just got done with booking my flights so yeah 25th afternoon ill be in KTM. Will get my flights to Lukla booked soon too.

I’m not sure of where you have hiked before but the major difference in Nepal is usually the altitude. Just need to acclimatise with rest days and climb

So yeah you might want to read up on altitude sickness if its your first time to Nepal . If you still up for it , just drop me a message .

  3. Hello guys, initially i was planning for nov 16th, had to postpone, so i can join along from nov 26th. are you guys planning for three passes route for 21 days? or what is going to be the itinerary?

I am also keen on doing without guide or porter, have done couple of High Altitude treks in Ladakh & Uttrakhand region

I am planning to book my tickets. So just wanted to check on details
