Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes Trek

Hello Everyone,

I am Ryan from SE Asia..

This is my first time in Nepal, and first time hiking at high altitude in the Himalayas.

This Nov 2017, I and my close buddy are aiming to reach Everest Basecamp, INDEPENDENTLY!
We have also included Gokyo into our itenary, So we would be completing the EBC-Gokyo circuit from east to west due to the Acclimatization factor.

I plan this trek without guides or porters. Just going to EBC and Gokyo Lakes independently on a relaxed and fun manner. No stress. We just wana soak up the beauty of the Himalayas, and get lots of pictures along the way.

I am looking for fun hiking partners (not more than four) to trek to EBC and also Gokyo Lakes on the start of the second week of November. Since we are travelling on a budget, I am thinking of and looking for partners who are interested to travel with us without any guides (or probably hiring a guide on our way to Gokyo from Dzonglha, as ChoLa Pass is known for its notoriously unpredictable trail) then fly out from Lukla to Kathmandu after the trek or whatever is the most cost efficient and convenient. The trek takes about 17 days to complete, Lukla-Lukla. We would be flying out of KTM in to Lukla on the Morning of 8th Nov, and fly out of Lukla on the 24th morning, if all goes well.. There are a few Acclimatization days built in to the trek to avoid getting Mountain sickness.. ‘SCARYY’..

As this is a once in a lifetime experience, it would be awesome to be travelling with fun and like-minded travellers. 🙂

We are fun, down to earth, open minded lads, and we are looking for likewise travellers to make this a memorable one. We are pretty flexible too…

Please do drop me a message, if anyone is interested.. 🙂 Ciao…

  1. Ryan, what do you mean by SOLO?

    • Independent, without a hiking\trekking agency.

  2. Misleading boast then. You are not doing it solo. You are doing it independent of a guide.

  3. Hey, Ryan. I’m planning an EBC trek around the same time as you. I have some trekking experience, but this will be my first time in Nepal. Let me know if you’re still looking for another to join your group!

    • Hello Andrew..
That would be great.. currently solo, my buddy had to pull out at the last moment.. so a trek partner would be great if all goes well..

  4. How is your itenary like?

  5. Hey, I am interested in this too and am happy to go and fast or slow as the group. When will you arrive in Nepal?
