Everest Base Camp

Hello!

Myself (Male, UK) and a friend (Female, USA) will be hitting the Everest High Pass trek starting on the 4th of May. As if this wouldn’t be difficult enough we’ve also added on a climb up Island Peak (6189m) to our itinerary. This looks incredible! We’re talking ice climbing, abseiling etc. Its graded as a ‘beginner peak’ for this kind of thing so don’t worry – experience isn’t required! We have none in that field!

In terms of the experience we do have, both have summited Kilimanjaro (5895m) and know we can handle the altitude. But we’ll still be moving at a steady pace with plenty of acclimatisation days!

We’re looking for fun, adventurous people to join us for either the full thing or just part. The main trek will be done as cheap as possible. Staying in tea houses and without a guide etc. Island Peak obviously carries some costs however. Currently the price is $615 per person (this includes permit [$250], guide, full training and all equipment etc) but I’m sure we’ll get a discount if others join.

Current itinerary looks like:
4th May departure.
10th-12th Island Peak
15th Everest Base Camp
24th finish.

If you’re interested in doing something awesome please let me know! 🙂

  1. Hi Sam,

I am interested in doing something similar to your trip. I have no experience doing long term trekking, but if what you described is for beginners it sounds like an awesome adventure I would be up for! I am flexible with a start date, but I must be back in the USA by May 25th. Are your start dates flexible at all so that we could maybe finish a little earlier. If so, let me know, I would love to join you guys!
