Everest B.C. or Annapurna from May 13th or soon after

I am flying into Kathmandu on May 12th and looking to do an Everest Base Camp or Annapurna circuit trek beginning on May 13th or soon after. I am a 29 yr old male from Boulder, Colorado, USA. I hike regularly here (~2 km elevation) but this will be my first trek of this length and elevation. Looking to complete in about three weeks. I’m pretty flexible on all the details. Hi Evan, Not sure if you got my emails so I thought I’d post something here as well just in case–I am a 23-year-old female, also in Boulder, hike regularly, arriving in Kathmandu on May 15th, hoping to do EBC without guide or porter but open to the possibility of either.  Let me know! -Barbora depolarizedclouds

    Hello Evan and Barbora,

    I am arriving into Kathmandu on May 16, and looking to trek to the EBC. I have four weeks available to me, and ideally, I would like to fly into Lukla, trek to EBC by way of Tengboche, Pangboche, and Periche. Trekking back, I would like to take the Cho La pass, if it is currently passable, perhaps hiring local assistance to find the safe route over the glacier, in order to hike back down to the Namche/Lukla by way of the Gokyo trek. Given the amount of time i have, I might consider trekking back from Lukla to Jiri, which would also provide an opportunity to stop at Bhaktapur.

    That being said, I prefer to not make such a trek on my own, and am open and flexible to alternatives, both in route, and in hiring a guide/porter. I am a 33-year-old male, married, from New York but have spent the past few years living in the Bay Area. I jog, swim, and do yoga regularly, and hike from time to time.
