Annapurna Circuit Trek, Everest Base Camp, Others

I’m flying into Kathmandu on Oct 2nd and will be departing for Besisahar the morning of Oct 5th, and am planning to hike the Annapurna Circuit with options to hike Annapurna Base Camp & Tilicho lake. I’m very flexible on dates, pace, and schedule as I want to fully enjoy the trek, scenery, and people I meet along the way.

I will be in Nepal for 45-60 days and am planning to do either EBC or three passes trek after a few days rest off the trail. Likely this would start near the end of October, early November. I’d be open to other treks or easy to moderate climbs if there’s ideas that others have researched.

I am looking for 1-2 like minded people to share the experience with who are open to making additional friends along the trail. I will be photographing and journaling throughout the trek. My only personality requirement is that you are positive minded, and are able to make the best out of uncomfortable situations.

  1. Hi Jameson,

I might have the same planes as you have although i want do some climbing. I don’t know if you have some mountaineering experience but i want to combine the Annapuna circuit with the Chulu far East summit and during the three passes trek i want to climb the island peaks. Both are not really difficult but are above 6000 meters and need experience with crampons.

Please let me know if you are interested!

  2. Hi Jameson, I am planning to do ACT+ABC+MBC with side trips to Tilicho Lake,Gangapurna Lake , Ice Lake and acclimatization days at Manang and at High Camp , a stay at Marpha after Muktinath (heard good things about Marpha) … I do not have any time pressures so want to do it at a pace where I can enjoy the trek without rushing to complete it … I haven’t booked tickets yet but shall do later in the week … I have done a few himalayan treks in India but this is a first in Nepal … I am still unsure whether to go independently or hire a porter/guide who can offer me the flexibility I am seeking ….
    Have u finalized on your plans ? Are u taking a porter/guide ? Did u find a partner/partners to trek ? Let me know

  4. Hi Sourabh , I am reaching KTM on Sep 24th , if u r interested in joining let me know …. Mine is a comfortable pace though over 24-25days with a few side trips along Manang area … Will share a high level itinerary if there is interest in joining

  5. Hey, what would be the budget ?

  6. Also we’ll have to get the permit in Kathmandu or pokhra.

  7. Hi sourabh/manish,

I will be in KTM on Okt 1st and will leave to Pokahra/Chame a few days later. I guess this will be a bit late for Manish. We will go without porter/guide and eat/sleep in tea houses. I don’t have a fixed budget but it will be average i guess. Pay for nice food and a place to sleep but don’t have all the luxury like a warm shower etc.

  8. Hi all,
i will probably stay in the The Golden Buddha hostel in Kathmandu from okt 1st untill the 4th. If someone wants to meet to see if we can match or plans for the annapurna circuit we can meet there.

    • Hi Emile!

I just arrived today in Khatmandu and I’m planning to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek, starting within the next 2/3 days.

I have been backpacking through Asia for 4 months and this will be my last month travelling for now. For the moment its just me, so I was looking to meet some likeminded people to share the trek

I’m staying in the Thamel area. My plan is to go tomorrow/the day after to get the TIMS and the rest of the permits etc., and start the trek around Oct. 4th. I don’t really have a fixed itinerary so I am open to suggestions. I’m on the 30 day visa, and my plan is to trek for 15/20 days.

I don’t have experience with mountaineering but I would be happy to join for the Annapurna Circuit. Not sure if you already met with the others in the thread, but in case you haven’t, we can meet tomorrow or the day after and see if our plans match.

  9. Hi all,
I will be flying into Kathmandu on the 2nd. I have booked a place in Thamel for 3 nights, and am planning to depart for Besisahar/Chame early morning on the 5th. I intend to get the permits in Kathmandu, as well as talk to locals, and meet up with other Trekkers. I am not going with a guide/porter, and will be staying tea houses along the way. I will keep to a minimal budget, but like Emile I will be making sure I am paying fairly for food and sleeping arrangements which I expect to average $10-15 per night depending on the elevation.

My plans are relatively loose since I will be in Nepal up to 60 days, so I’m open to pace and side trips. My ultimate goal is always to stay healthy and safe along the way.

  10. Hi all,
I’ll be happy to join AC-ABC (and extensions) and afterwards the EBC. I hiked a lot in the past but never in such high altitudes. Would be interested in walking in above average pace but not to rush anything. I also plan to spend 45 days in Nepal and I arrive to KTM Oct 3rd. Let’s chat in PM for details.
