Annapurna Circuit Trek
Hey guys/girls,
My name is Martin, 18 year old from Germany, and im planing on doing the Annapurna Circuit Trek this October. As of now I only have my startdate set between 12-14th October. So im pretty flexible when it comes to itinerary and total time (I would like it to be between 14-18 days). I have only trekked in altitudes up to 2300m so this trek will be very exiciting for me. Thats also the reason why I hope to find a partner or two here so we can help each other and enjoy Nepal together. Im open for recomendations or change of plans (like acclimatization trips etc) so feel free to reply if your interested.
All the best
Martin

Hey! I’m Bryn from Austin, TX.
I’m 21, Male, and created an account just to reply to you lol. I was thinking about going around the same time as you, but hadn’t set on a date yet.
My plan was to do the trek, then stay in Kathmandu for a few days to explore all the religious places and experience the culture.
I would love to see if we could do the trek together!
Hey Byan,
just today I booked a flight to Kathmandu arriving on the 10th of October.
As this is the start of my around the world trip I don’t have a set departure time. How many days do you want to stay in Nepal?
I thought we could stay 1-2 days in Kathmandu (getting all the permits, maybe clothing etc.) and then head out to Bhulbhule (by bus and walking). So I thought a nice route would be:
Day 1: Kathmandu to Bhulbhule (via Besisahar)
Day 2: Bhulbhule to Ghermu
Day 3: Ghermu to Tal
Day 4: Tal toChame
Day 5: Chame to Pisang
Day 6: Pisang to Manang (We could also try to acclimatize further by walking from Pisang to Bragha and from Bragha to Manang on Day 7)
Day 7/8: Acclimatize in Manang (we could do the trip to Icelake or another day trip to acclimatize)
Day 9: Manang to Yak Kharka
Day 10: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
Day 11: Thorong Phedi to Muktinath (Thorong-La Pass)
Day 12: Muktinath to Kagbeni
Day 13: Kagbeni to Jomsom
From Jomson there are multiple possibilities. We could either trek to Pokhara (next to the road, not that nice) or take the plane or jeep.
What do you think of this route, do you have any suggestions or so :)?
I think that’s a great plan!
Message me so we can talk more about it, I’m also eager to hear about what you have planned for the rest of your around the world trip 🙂
Hi Martin and Bryn – I’m also arriving in Kathmandu around this time and would be interested in joining you all on the trek – or at least the plans to get to the trailhead. I am arriving October 13th. It looks like with your current plan, I may just miss you. But if you happen to be in town still on October 13th I can spend all day getting my trekking permits and then head out that evening or early on the 14th.
Hey there. I will be at the Kopan monastery from the 3rd to the 13th and then I plan to start the circuit trek Oct 14th. I want to finish by November 3rd/6th at the latest as I leave the 8th. I would love the company during the trek. I am like you in the aspect of being an avid backpacker, but I haven’t been above 2k altitude. I do however skydive weekly and go to 14k altitude although I don’t know if that counts since I only spend a little time up there before falling down lol.
I would love it if we could get a few people together. Not looking for cost savings as much as safety in numbers. Let me know!
Hi Martin, Bryn, Monel & Connor
I’m Chris, a 22 year old from England. I will be flying into Kathmandu from Malaysia on the 12th October. I too was looking at staying around the area for 1-2 days (sorting out gear and whatnot) then starting the trek around the 14th October.
The highest trek I’ve done is just under 4000m (but was only a couple days) so I am definitely looking for someone/a group of people to do this exciting trek with!
I am extremely flexible with whatever plan so I’m happy to go with the flow.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me to get something sorted! 🙂
Hi all.
How have you figured your plans? I would like to join your group, if you allow me to.
I am 26, Danish and are already in Nepal, staying in the east in the countryside. I will be in Kathmandu from around the 10th of October and like to do the Annapurna circuit as well. Your plan sounds good. I’m used to hikes and treks for 2-3 days duration, but the highest I have done is 3000 m.
Did you make any further plannings?
Feel free to contact me, or I will get in contact..
Hi all
I just wrote to Monel and Connor on the 14 Oct start group. Happy to join you on Oct 14, sorting out gear on Oct 13 in KTM. Will be lodging near Shenchen monastery in KTM if you guys want to meet up Oct 13 .
I am in my forties , Indian born , now divide time between Pennsylvania and India
Waiting for years to get to Nepal and trek
cheers
Hi to all!
I am Shaun from Australia, I’m 40 – a fitter / engineer from Adelaide.have trekked in NZ alone before- been to South Africa and Zimbabwe – loved it- so many dear memories! Since having a family It’s been some time since traveling.
I am getting in to Ktm on the 11th and flying out on the 3rd of Nov. The itinerary of the Annapurna crt that you guys have been talking about sounds so good. I am open to companions and adventure.
I haven’t booked anything at all yet and it’s starting to scare me- suppose that’s part of been domesticated! Ha ha
Hey again 🙂 Since this thread doesn’t seem to really lead anywhere, I started a new one called Annapurna circuit trek, with the 14th as a suggested date to meet in Kathmandu. It seems like we are more people interested in finding partners. We can talk on this site, but it would probably be easier to make an email correspondence or even a group on Messenger/WhatsApp to get in contact. I think, as more of you suggested, that it would be nice to find a meeting place in Kathmandu and figure out details. I’ll be there from the 11th, staying in Thamel area.
Hope we can form a nice, small group!

Thanks Sandra. Good work ! This group does not allow email address postings ( I tried some minutes ago- ” your reply is awaiting moderation)- so no choice but to plan here
Happy to share phone for whatsapp group . I will be staying in the Boudhanath area 12 and 13 Oct . Would be nice to plan something this week – take a common guide ?
Meet at a common spot Friday evening ?
Hi Sandra , Neeru and All.
Great idea
I think finding a spot in Thamel and meeting makes a lot of sense,
There are so much to discuss- face to face is so much better.
Cheers
Shaun
Hi again Shaun, Sandra et al
First : can you see my post from 4 Oct. It says ” your reply is awaiting moderation” when I see it ? Rather ridiculous.
Yes lets meet in Thamel Friday 12 Oct evening- 6ish pm. Sandra tell us a coffee house or something with address . Thamel us a good area to shop for gear .I have found a good guide to Annapurna circuit trek we can share, so let me know if you are interested and I will see if he can join us . How many would be in our group- since only three of us are corresponding last few days—-a number would be good to have .
cheers
Neeru
Hi everyone!
So sorry for the delay in my reply. I am flying to KTM from the USA on October 12th so I won’t be in KTM till October 14th which means I won’t be able to make it for the Oct 12th meeting at a cafe.
I would love to meet up with any and all of you. If you make a plan as a group without me I can join you in Pokhara once I secure my TIMS card and Annapurna Sanctuary Permit. Let me know how that sounds and how we plan to communicate once there.
cheers!
Connor
Hi Connor, Neeru and Sandra,
Good plan, Sandra are you happy to find a meeting point for us?
I am keen to meet the guide you suggest Neeru.
It’s bit of a shame your coming later Connor but my schedule is not strict and would be cool to meet you, I can’t speak for Sandra and Neeru regarding there itineraries.
Any way- cheers to all.
Shaun
Hey all. I am all excited for our upcoming plans. Things changes a bit for me, which means that I will arrive in Kathmandu Saturday 13th at night. So that means, that I cannot arrange a meet up at Friday, sorry for the late reply to that. Since you Connor is also arriving the 14th, I would be more than happy to meet up.
OK Shaun, Connor.
Wish I could wait till 15 Oct to start with you both, but have time constraints as have to be back to India for pending work by Oct 28, and don’t want to hurry along
Shaun can we meet Oct 12, anyone else earlier in the thread welcome too.
Lets meet at the main gate of Shenchen monastery, Boudhinath say 5 pm Oct 12, and plan an Oct 14 departure for the Annapurna circuit trek with a guide.
Hi Sandra – that sounds great! Send me a message and we can exchange WhatsApp numbers and talk about the details and decide on a time and place to meet in person. I’d also like to chat about whether or not you want to use a guide, if you are a morning person, etc. Looking forward to talking with you further!
Hi Neeru
Ok that’s a plan, see you at Shenchen gates at 5.
All the best Connor and Sandra, it would be good to keep contact in case plans change- anyway hope to meet you on the trail.
Shaun
