Annapurna Circuit Trek

Hi there Trekkers!

**Trip postponed since I broke my foot, lame!**

I am embarking on my first trip to Nepal and trekking the Annapurna Circuit. I am arriving in Kathmandu the afternoon of June 7 and plan to take a couple of days to gather last minute items and permits to hit the trail on Saturday, June 10. Since it is monsoon season and I am reading that the high routes should offer better views that time of year, I do plan to take the trail up to Tilicho Lake, and any generally more strenuous, high mountain route. Of course, all of that can change once there, but that’s the plan going in. I am shooting for 18-19 days total, coming out June 18 or 19,though I have some wiggle room as I don’t need to be in Pokhara until July 1 (for a Vipassan meditation, yay!) So, if those dates don’t exactly line up I’m sure we can work something out.

I also want to mention that this is my first trek, and international travel for that matter, but I have a good amount of experience backpacking in the NorthWest USA. This isn’t my “first rodeo”, as they say.

That’s all I have for now. Let me know if you would like to join up!

In gratitude,

  1. Hi David 🙂

Im Kerry! I am looking to join someone for the Annapurna around the dates you mention here. I thought about doing it alone, but I think considering its the monsoon season, for safety reasons, I should probably go with someone (plus it will probably be more fun!). I have not fully decided on when I will enter Nepal, but my thought was around June 1. Anyways, let me know if you might want to link up 🙂

  2. Hi there, Kerry.

I think it’d be great if you want to join, though you should know my brother just booked his ticket yesterday, as well. So if you don’t mind some sibling banter you are more than welcome to join us! He has to fly out of Kathmandu on the 28th so we might actually need to be out from the trek on the 26th for him to bus back. I’ll then be staying in Pokhara for a few days before a meditation retreat on July 1. I arrive in Kathmandu June 7 if you would like to meet up beforehand, too.

Let me know if that sounds agreeable to you!

  3. Hey David! I love sibling banter lol. Wish my sister would book a ticket and join me. Unfortunately my timeline to arrive in Nepal has been pushed back so im not able to start until around the 20th at the earliest, so I’ll look around 🙂 have fun though!

    • Sounds good. Enjoy your trip when you get to it and I’ll look out for you in Pokhara!

  4. Hey there,

If you’re still interested in folks for your trek, I arrive in Kathmandu on June 9th and intend to begin the trek a couple of days later (for permits and last minute supplies).

I’m from Ireland and this is my first international trek.

If you’re interested in having a chat about it, let me know! 🙂

    • Hi Jake. Are you still doing your trek? In currently in pokhara and am keen to do another trek. Was looking at the 10day annapurna sanctuary trek. Let me know if youd be interested. JJ from South Africa 🙂

    • As much as I’d love to meet, it seems the Annapurna Sanctuary trek doesn’t have a similar route to the Annapurna Circuit (which is what I’m interested in, due to rainshadow). If the first few days were the same between the two treks, then I’d totally be interested!

  5. I unfortunately broke my foot this last weekend and will now not be going on the trek until later in the summer… Thanks for checking in though!
