Annapurna Circuit Trek
Hi Everyone,
I am planning to trek the Annapurna Circuit in the beginning of December 2022. Later than that seems like too late into the season and may not be very pleasant weather wise. Initially, the plan was to do the whole 14 days on foot but based on latest reports, the actual walking trail is barely 6 days (from Chame to Muktinath) owing to new road construction. I am not so keen on walking on the vehicular road so would like to start from Chame and trek down to Kagbeni or maximum till Jomsom. I have read that there is an alternate trail from Muktinath to Kagbeni with some super interesting villages along the way.
I am open to adding a side trip to Ice Lake (one day) or Tilicho Lake (if we can do this in 2 days). I have two weeks to 20 days at hand from Kathmandu to Kathmandu and would like to spend a few days in Pokhara chilling and relaxing after the trek.
I live in Ladakh (India) and run a trekking company there, and work as a part-time outdoor guide. When I am trekking on my own I am pretty laid back, like to take it easy and take in the landscape and the culture as much as possible. So I am not really looking to run on the trail. But I prefer to plan things ahead and get a clear sense of where we are travelling to. I don’t like surprises.
While it seems like the Annapurna circuit is pretty well beaten and can be done independently, I am planning to opt for a guiding service because I feel like the knowledge and insights of a local guide would make the experience much more enriching and meaningful.
Do hit me up if anyone is interested and planning around the same time. We can connect over email or WhatsApp to discuss and plan further.
Cheers!
