Annapurna area

I am planning a 6-8 day trek at the end of October in the Annapurna region. I’ve spent a lot of time dithering between a few different routes and Mardi himal looks like a good option… It is less commercial than the popular AC/ABC/Poon hill treks and i am hoping it will give me a more authentic trekking experience while still being manageable for someone with limited trekking experience! I plan on taking a fairly relaxed pace- I want to challenge myself but still have time to stop along the way and explore.

Although I am happy to trek alone with the company of a guide, it would be nice to share the experience (and the cost!). Based on personal recommendations I’ve contacted the 3 Sisters Trekking Company, who have given me an itinerary for this trek and a price;

Guide @ $25 a day = $200 (inc guide’s food, accom, insurance)
Porter @ $15 a day = $120 (inc porter’s food, accom, insurance)
Transport to and from trail start = $50 per car
Entry permit = $35
Food and accommodation while trekking @ $20 a day = $160

$320/£190 per person is based on sharing the cost of the guide,porter and transport between 3 people
Between 2 people it would be around $380/£230

3 Sisters said hire of down sleeping bags, warm jackets etc about a dollar a day.

  5. Hey, i am Arefin (M 27), from Bangladesh, planning to trek Annapurna Circuit from 26th/27th of november, in 12(+2 may be) days, up to Jomsom, then return to pokhara by jeep+bus. In the mean time we will probably trek to Tilicho Lake as well. so far we 2, me and Nayeem ( trekker and Photographer) from Bangladesh are confirmed. In Terms of date we may not be that flexible (may be 1 or 2 days) since our return ticket is confirmed. we will be moving neither slow nor that fast.. we will go independently. i have done Annapurna Base Camp in 2012, independently. and have some more trekking/camping experience in India and of course many in Bangladesh.. anyway, it will be good to have 2 or maybe 3 more partners with us so that we can form a small size group and share experience/culture/fun/cost + etc throughout the time.. 🙂
