Your Guide

My name is Arun Karki and I am from Kathmandu, Nepal. I was educated as engineer, but my interest and passion for travelling took me in this field and I have been working as a trekking guide since 2006.

I have done several treks with both large and small groups and private group treks as well. Comparatively, I have done less trekking than other trekking guides but I believe my experience is enough for your satisfaction.

I love travelling and thus, guiding is not just work but it's my hobby. I love sharing cultural, traditional and social information along the way if that's something you're interested in.

I'm fluent in English, co-operative and helpful. Nepal is very wide in culture, tradition and natural splendor, but i can decrease its width of your curiosity!

Regards,

Arun karki

The Ghorepani / Poon hill trekking trail is a very popular short-cut trekking trail enjoyed by trekkers visiting Nepal interested in the Annapurna region.

The incredible mountain scenery and the stunning ethnic villages validate the popularity of Ghorepani trekking. Ghorepani Poon hill trekking offers the splendid Himalayan views with Mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m, Annapurna I 8091m, Fishtail / Machhapuchhre 6998m, Nilgiri 7041m, Annapurna south 7219m, Annapurna II 7939m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m, Lamjung Himal 6988m and many more above 5000m.

The idyllic Ghandruk Gurung village and Gurung museum with their diversity of religion and much traditional spirit are attracting factors.

Along the route there are innumerable opportunities to see wildlife and scenery such as white capped mountains, river chat, brown dipper, white-breasted kingfisher, and butterfly, barking deer, orchids, rhododendron and Magnolia forests. Walking through rhododendron forest and snow capped Himalayan ranges makes our trekking a once in a life time experience.

The focal attraction of Ghorepani trekking is Poon Hill, situated at an altitude of 3100m (one of the most spectacular view spots on earth for maximum number of mountains). From Poon hill we can capture a breathtaking sunrise over the Himalaya range. During the trek the trail passes through the beautiful villages of the world famous ‘Gorkha warriors’ along with the Gurung and Magar’s charming villages.

Ghorepani Poon hill trekking in the Annapurna region begins from Pokhara, a popular destination framed by the famous Phewa Lake. The trail leads you through the dense forest of rhododendrons and magnolia, passing the deep gorge between the massive green hills. Once onto the top of Ghorepani and at Poon Hill you will be in the midst of an Amphitheater of snow peaks. Our return trek descends through the lush terraced Modi River valley before concluding the adventure back in Pokhara. This popular lake framed destination is dominated by the towering mountain range of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu range including the majestic peak Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fish-Tail).
