"Langtang & Gosainkund Lakes"
Reviewed on May 27, 2014.In short, Bharat KC is an incredible guide! I’ve trekked in various countries before (this being my second experience of trekking in Nepal) and Bharat was by far the best guide I’ve ever encountered. He really made our trip, and I wouldn’t hesitate to trek with him again.
He is very knowledgeable, freely imparting key facts and general information regarding the history, religion, culture, and wildlife of the area. I felt completely comfortable around him, and very well looked after for the duration of the 12 day trek. He was also very considerate and thoughtful; on my birthday he surprised me with a cake! He organised this to be made in the tea-house where we were staying.
Most evenings were spent playing Uno, eating fantastic food, and of course drinking chai! He respected our space, but when we wanted, we could literally talk for hours with him. I thoroughly enjoyed his company and think of him more as a friend now. Embarrassingly I’ve forgotten his name, but the porter we had was also fantastic, as well as being strong as an ox!
We experienced a lot of rain due to a cyclone in India, however our porter got us safely across rivers; our safety was really important, both of them displaying a lot of care and attention. In all, the trip was really well-organised and planned out, Bharat keeping us informed every step of the way.
I would highly recommend him as a guide whether you’re fairly fit and an experienced trekker, or if you’re new to the sport – he can cater for all abilities. My partner and I will undoubtedly book our next trek with Bharat. He’s just a cool guy 🙂
