I was unsure of how trekking on my own would go and wanted to have company along the way, especially as a single female traveler. Bashu went above and beyond and became a good friend during our walks and evenings with other travelers around the fire at the inns where we stayed. He was very knowledgeable about plants and the surrounding villages, and was open to talking about cultural differences and norms across the world. He was always very curious and interested in how things are done abroad as well. While other guides would retreat to the company of inn staff or other guides over dinner, Bashu was always looking out to make sure I was comfortable, leaving me to my book if I liked or talking with me and other trekkers about life. Would highly recommend him for any trek.
