About Sudan

I am born and brought up in Kathmandu but I always Consider Mountains as my second home. I really cherish myself working as a Trekking guide. It allows me an opportunity to showcase the real highlights of my beautiful country to all my fellow trekkers or travellers.

I am young, energetic, hard working and very easy to get along with. In regards to my trekking experience, I have spent a large part of my life exploring the trails of the Himalayas. I have lead trekking expeditions to Everest Base Camp, throughout the Annapurna Ranges, and to the heights of LangTang, Muktinath, Manaslu and Gosaikunda, as well as other mountain trails in the north western Himalayas.

I find Nature as my Inspiration and Mountains always keeps me Motivated.

The Grace of the Himalayas

Reviewed on Sep 10, 2014.

Manakamana and Ghorka are two historically and cultural capitals of Nepal. Stationed at the top of a mountain with awe-inspiring views of the Himalayan Range, Manakamana introduces the traveller to the rich cultural history of the Nepali people, while Gorkha marks where Nepal began her process of unification.

The trek between these cities is to die for, and Sudan made the process one to remember. The attention to detail was amazing, with opportunities to experience the true Nepal given full focus. I came away with many great memories and will be sure to return again soon.

Not only a guide but a great friend

Reviewed on Sep 9, 2014.

I originally started this trek without a guide or porter. I completed the trek with one other girlfriend but it wouldn’t have been as fun without Sudan. We met Sudan along the way while he was guiding another group of 3 girls. He was very kind to us and answered many of our questions and welcomed us to trek with him and his group. It was very obvious that his top priority was to ensure the safety and comfort of the 3 girls. My friend and I loved our time with him and his group. He was very knowledgable about the trails, equipment, and how to make the trek and comfortable as possible. He is a very kind, caring, and wise person. Anyone would be lucky to have him for a guide.

Couldn’t have been better

Reviewed on Jul 16, 2014.

2 friends and I recently finished trekking the Annapurna circuit with Sudan and his team from White Yak Trails and it was a better experience than I ever imagined. You could tell he loved trekking and that enthusiasm was great to be around. Even on the first day I felt like I was going trekking with a friend not just a guide.

The whole time from start to finish I felt safe and had a lot of confidence in Sudan’s knowledge of the mountains and the people. He was really helpful and made sure we got the most out of the experience.

It was 2 of the best weeks of my life and when I come back to Nepal I would definitely trek with Sudan and his team again

    • Hi, Kaushik.

Thank you For your Inquiry. It will be my pleasure to assist you for the trek to Annapurna Region. I am not sure about the group coz no terms are reached yet.
If you are thinking about doing this I will be happy to be your guide. I normally operate on Tea House Basis and even on service basis. Which one do you prefer the best?

Looking forward in hearing from you.

      Best Regards
      Sudan.

  2. You didnt had any talk with rubie on this site regarding the annapurana trip from 20th this month ??

    • Hi Kaushik, You’re hoping to join the same trip as Rubie, right? Not a separate trip of your own…

  3. Yes.. i am hoping to join the rubie’s group.

  4. Have you guided the Manaslu Circuit Trek? I would like to start it from Kathmandu on November 19th and leave Kathmandu on December 1st or 2nd. How do you think the conditions will be by then?

  5. Hi – I’m interested in hiring just a guide for a Manaslu trek. I’ll be arriving in KTM on the Sep 26 and would be available to trek for about 13 days. I understand it may be necessary to tent due to earthquake damage in villages, this is OK. Are you interested in coming as a guide?

    Thanks!

  6. Dear Sir,
    Namaste.

Man thanks for your interest to do the trek. Manaslu Trek is One of my best Trek To Undertake. I would Really be keen to Guide you along The Trek. I am Really Happy That you have Mentioned camping, Thank You for your observation.

I would like to know What will be your ultimate goal. As Manaslu Circuit Its In Gorkha, Heavily Affected by The EarthQuake. As Of Now I have No Knowledge as If the Route is Safe or Not.. I will Look In that Thoroughly as Your Plans Progresses.

As You have mentioned that 13 days for The trek. Which I think You will have to concider and have a bit of research by Yourself. We Normally Make an Itinerary For manaslu Trek For 18-20 Days. With LARKE LA PASS.

I have to mention you that You will need least 2 persons for the permit. As Its A Restricted Area.

My Personal Suggestion on this would be, I a Very sorry That with the limited amount of time I wouldnt be able to Undertake this Trek

I would be very happy to help you in anyway possible.
    Thank you,
    Sudanshrestha.

  7. Namaste! Richard And Noha.
I have Led Manaslu Circuit, many Times.. I know Manaslu Is One Of My Favourite Trails.
Getting Straight To The Point. 13-14 days of Trek seems bit hard but can be doable. Then We really need help as Manpowers meaning Porters.. As The Trek Is End of November- First December, Winter Time.. The Pass Itself will be harder.. While coming down over the Larke la.

I would also Like To Suggest You Is we can do Manaslu Base Camp.. Up And Down. Or If You are interested with other treks.. I would Really Like To Suggest Few Options of different region Different Trek, Which Might Suit Your Plans.
Please advice If You Have any Concerns.. 😉
    Thank You
    Sudan

  16. Hello,
I am Planning to come to Nepal in 3 days and I would of course like to go for a hike. Since it is my first time there I decided to start with something shorter. I like to go to Annapurna-Khopra Danda and possibly to the lake after. I think this can be done in 10 days? I would like to go with a mixture of Camping and tea house. Mostly camp but maybe couple of times in a tea house just for a shower and internet.Lets say I go alone, What is the cost I am looking for? Basically a guid like you or anyone, I guess a porter, Camping equipment and permits.
    Thanks a lot
