Makalu Base Camp – Tea Houses Open?

Howdy!
I am planning a trek to Makalu Base Camp (starting in Num) from May 9 – 24. I am curious if the tea houses along the route are likely to be open at that time of year. If this is unpredictable, what is the best way to find out whether they will be open en route? Is there any centralized place where we could get this info, either online or in person? We want to ensure we stock-up on enough food, but not more than is needed if the tea houses are open.
