First time trekker – have a few questions

Hello! I am hoping to plan a 8-9 day trek in Nepal in early April. This is my first time, and I am quite excited. I am wondering:
1. What would be a good easy-moderate trek for a newbie. (I have to return to KTM within 10 days.)
2. I’m hoping to trek with some other people, but if I can’t find anyone, what’s it like to trek alone with a guide?
3. My camera bag is a must, so I become limited to carry a pack. I guess this means I need a porter along with a guide? Any suggestions to get around this?

4. My friend will then arrive and she has trouble with descents. So thought we could fly somewhere to alleviate this. Any suggestions? I have to meet her in KTM when she arrives.

Many thanks,
Meera

Hi Meera,

1. What would be a good easy-moderate trek for a newbie. (I have to return to KTM within 10 days.)

For Newbie: You can trek Ghandruk-Poonhill-Jomsom trek, you can find lots of tea house during your trek and it is really famous for newbie as well. You will find Annapurna Himalayan range and this would be worth to trek.

2. I’m hoping to trek with some other people, but if I can’t find anyone, what’s it like to trek alone with a guide?

Its all depend on your guide, I would recommend you to interact with the guide before your trek so that you would know how much comfortable is your guide.

3.My camera bag is a must, so I become limited to carry a pack. I guess this means I need a porter along with a guide? Any suggestions to get around this?
Its all on your hand either you can carry your belongings or not. other wise you can take a porter.

4. Then Fly back to Pokhara,Chitwan,Lumbini these three places are really good as well.

Hope this will help you

thanks

Hi Meera,
Sorry for Late reply,

yes you have a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, but this route is quite busy so just make sure you book the ticket on time.

Thanks
