Open in all seasons, this backcountry lodge is surrounded by incredible terrain for hikers, mountaineers and backcountry skiers. Accessible only by air, the Burnie Glacier Chalet is a European-style mountain lodge and the height of Bear Mountaineering’s offerings.

And yes, I do work with telemarkers! They even get me to test their new gear destructively.

Our operating area is legally non-motorized. You can be assured of a peaceful wilderness experience in the gorgeous Howson Mountain Range.

Located near Smithers, B.C., the area is also known as Tazdli Wiyez Bin – the place of rushing waters – and is now one of B.C.‘s newest Class A Provincial Parks.

If expeditions are more your style, in places like the Stikine Ice-Cap or the massive and remote peaks of the Saint Elias Mountains, Bear Mountaineering will guide you there too.
